When i began experimenting with Clutches in 2008, i wasn't even sure what really were the parameters for it. I knew it was a fancier version of a wrist bag worn on the red carpet or out at the club. The concept of a Clutch is more that a bag to holding your essential while out at an event, party or simply having fun, it's worn as an accessory, which should stands out and complement your Ensemble.
I was inspired by the idea of playing with the idea of a practical but glamorous object and pushing the possibilities to explore what products i could define under this category. Could it still be called a Clutch if it has a handle such as a strap for the wrist, because then shouldn't it be called a wristlet? Or did the size matter because if it was too little it could be confused with a coin purse. Maybe improvising with the way it can be carried on the body could lead to further product development. For now, the glam of my "Sarah's Clutch" is on the twist of the wrist.
